Tai Cheong Bakery (泰昌餅家) has seen its stock soar high ever since their highly coveted egg tarts were proclaimed as the world's best by former governor Chris Patten decades ago. The famed bakery brand has since been acquired by local food and beverage giant, Tao Heung Group and nowadays you can basically find them everywhere in Hong Kong, including some of the more popular MTR stations such as Tsing Yi.
Tai Cheong's bread and butter has always been their egg tarts and chinese donuts, currently priced at HK$5 a piece.
What separates Tai Cheong's patented egg tarts with the rest of the competition is their cookie crust but to be brutally honest with you, I think it's a little overrated.
Their Chinese donuts have always been my personal favorite.
