Chocolatier Masale (Sapporo, JAPAN) ★★★☆☆

Chocolatier Masale is Sapporo's first chocolate specialty store. It first opened doors back in 1988 and has been the home of Hokkaido's finest handmade chocolates ever since. But they are far from just a one-trick pony. In fact, apart from chocolates, their cakes are really something to die for as well.

We were catching a train to Otaru in the morning and quickly decided to grab a few of these fascinating cakes from the pâtisserie for breakfast.

There were 2 groups of cakes here - the chocolate-themed ones on the left and strawberry-themed ones on the right. Despite being a chocolate lover, I decided to take my chances with their strawberries.

Princess (¥525)
Meet the Princess! An interior of dark chocolate and green tea mousse enriched with strawberry white chocolate on the outside. Red wine comes out with a simple bite.

Framboise  (¥441)
Strawberry crème brulee with a bit of chocolate and sponge cake inside. The Princess was way better.

This store is located in the west wing of Paseo, an underground shopping area directly connected to the Sapporo train station. For more details, please visit this web (http://www.sapporo-chikamichi.jp/)
