The Lounge & Bar, The Ritz Carlton Hong Kong (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

Jelloman and I have been quietly talking about where to bring little nugget out for lunch again. The poor kid hasn't dined in for nearly 2 months now but with the downward trend of COVID cases in the last few weeks, we thought we could start to pick our spot if we manage to find a place safe enough for him to take his mask off in public.

I came across a pretty empty The Lounge & Bar at The Ritz Carlton Hong Kong while we last dined at Tin Lung Heen a couple weeks ago. This could be a good option, I thought.

I have never been a big fan of high tea so not surprisingly, I have never been to The Lounge & Bar at The Ritz Carlton Hong Kong, a place known for its high tea before. I have to admit, the tables by the window are pretty nice places to chill out on a lazy afternoon but we ended up sitting a few feet away from the window since I would likely need a pair of sunglasses and some heavy-duty sun block to sit there this afternoon.

Some homemade brioche with dried raisins to start things off for us.

He couldn't wait anymore. He had to take his mask off right now!

Seafood spaghetti with garlic and chili – This came with some extra heat from the chili which proved to be too much for little guy to handle. This was a decent dish thanks to the pan-seared scallops.

Chef Toby's Ultimate Hot Dog – Easily the best dish this afternoon.

The decadent hot dog came with a pork sausage which was topped with goodness like dehydrated caviar, truffle mayo, grilled foie gras and onion marmalade. Not surprisingly very heavy but pretty tasty thanks to the mix of heavy flavors.

Lobster brioche sandwich – Now, the worst dish of the afternoon. "Diced" Boston lobster meat with herb mayonnaise was served in a toasted brioche (it's really just a butter toast), with fries and pickles on the side.

I had trouble spotting the lobster. The more I look at this, the more I miss the lobster roll at Luke's Lobster which came with loads of lobster meat (Man, I miss Japan!).

The dishes we ordered this afternoon weren't all that tasty except for the hot dog but we were just grateful that we managed to find a place with generous space to enjoy a family lunch together.
