Tengudou 天狗堂 (Sapporo, JAPAN) ★★★☆☆

We missed our daily dose of Hokkaido milk soft ice-cream this afternoon so Jelloman was looking to fix that following our ramen dinner at Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade (狸小路商店街). Again, I was tasked to come up with something before all the shops close at 8pm (It was a Sunday). It was almost 7:56pm but thank goodness, I was able to come up with a solution just before the shops closed.



Located in B2F level of PARCO, Tengudou (天狗堂) is yet another ice-cream parlour prided for their silky smooth and rich flavored soft ice-cream made with Hokkaido milk. Forget about variety, they've only got two flavors to choose from - a regular Hokkaido milk soft ice-cream and one with covered with gold leaf.



Everyone seemed to fall in love with gold (leaf) so we all went with this one - on top of the decadent milk soft-serve was a sheet of gold leaf. That's worth at least a few shots.



Another thing that set Tengudou's soft serve apart from the rest of the competition is their specially prepared cone. There were different ingredients including crispy puffed rice, cream and red bean paste made with red beans from Tokachi (十勝) layered inside the cone to complement the silky smooth milk soft serve.



Personally, I'm not a big fan of having a giant sheet of gold leaf hanging over my milk ice-cream so this really didn't get me all excited.
