LeTAO Pathos (Otaru, JAPAN) ★★☆☆☆

Anybody who knows Hokkaido well should know about LeTAO, one of the most popular Japanese confectionery stores in the province. They have a huge presence in Otaru most noticeably on Sakaimachi Street, which is widely known as the place to shop for sweet treats and souvenirs in town.



I knew LeTAO has been around for a long time. Turned out they started way back in 1998 right here in Otaru. Apart from their famous cheesecake, they have also added other concept to the mix including this dessert bar at LeTAO Pathos (Greek word for "passion") serving mont blanc cakes, mille feuille etc.



But we were just looking for a simple soft serve ice-cream and this pumpkin flavored one looked like the perfect choice for halloween season.



It was silky smooth but I would much prefer a regular milk soft serve on this day.  



Judging by their pumpkin soft ice-cream which was all we had here today, I think they better stick with their signature fromage cakes and biscuits.
