After spending the entire morning and afternoon in the Saint Germain area, we decided to go back to our hotel for a quick nap before heading out again for a light supper. What's great about staying at a hotel near The Avenue des Champs-Élysées is that there are so many dining options available, ranging from casual to fine dining, not to mention all the different cuisines.
At the end, we decided to stick with French.
Le Pavillon Elysée Lenôtre has been a staple on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées for decades and a star among some of Paris' oldest "institutions".
Cod served with eggplant, green asparagus in tomato jus (€26)
Only six main courses to choose from and first up for us was this cod dish served with diced eggplant and tomatoes on top. The fish was OK but the tomato jus was off the mark.
Yellow chicken with "Viennoise" confit tomato sauce & mixed vegetable tart (€26)
I liked the yellow chicken a little more. Fairly tender and flavorful. My only complaint was with the sauce which was a little gluey and slightly too overpowering.
