Sift Patisserie (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

Fresh off a trip to Seoul where we visited no less than 10 dessert spots in four days, I thought we would pretty much stay away from anything sweet when we got back to the swing of things in Hong Kong. But that was before we ran into Sift Patisserie in Central this afternoon.

Chocolate hazelnut crunch - It looks a little like an opera cake but comes with a hazelnut twist. Chocolate cream, chocolate ganache, Jivara and Guanaja chocolate layers, hazelnut dacquoise and prâliné crunch. Not bad especially the contrasting textures from the different layers.

Mango Saint Honore - Light vanilla creme, fresh mango with lime filling and decorated with valrhona chocolate decor and vanilla fresh cream. Last but not least, a caramelized puff pastry base. This was fairly decent but as a purist, I can't say I really enjoy it a lot due to the acidity from the mango and lime. Still think Saint Honore should be something really really sweet.
