The Chop House (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★★☆

As a casual fan of steak and burger, I have never been on the lookout for new burger places in town but The Chop House at the long awaited Soundwill Plaza II was just too much to resist.

The Chop House was brought to us by the Wooloomooloo Group who also operates a steakhouse in the same building. I like the fact that the place is bright and airy with the interior decorated very much like a New York style diner though with a bit of industrial twist.

As expected, the menu features a wide variety of burgers (chicken, pork, beef, cheese) and sandwiches (beef, BBQ pork, turkey and even soft-shell crab. Yes soft-shell crab!). There is also a small selection of snacks, pastas and steaks perfect for sharing among friends.

We kicked things with the soft-shell crab club sandwiches which according to the description on the menu, was a "true treasure".

The three mini club sandwiches all featured a tasty sun-dried tomato flavored focaccia bun which was spongy and flavorful. Throw in some applewood smoked bacons, tomatoes, purple onions and lemon aioli and we indeed got ourselves a treasure.

And priced at only $138, that was a huge bargain.

The BBQ beef, bacon and cheddar burger ($160) was also a winner. The beef patty was so moist and juicy. I liked this a lot more than BLT's signature burgers.

Milkshakes are always good companions to go with burgers. Unfortunately the closest thing they had was a mocktail called "Cookie and Cream". Too bad it tasted too watery. That was the only blemish here.

After lunch, we took some time to check out the restaurant's outdoor terrace. The space is huge.
