J'aime Bien Pâtisserie (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★☆☆☆

J'aime Bien Pâtisserie joined a new wave of pâtisseries in Hong Kong late last year. Like many of the up and coming chefs and pâtissiers, the chef-owner here is a "le cordon bleu" alumni who had spent time studying in UK.

The shop is decorated predominantly in white with a minimalist approach. Bell-shaped glass containers are used to display different pastries creating an exquisite visual effect.

A closer look at the glass bell jars reminded me a lot of Chef Philippe Conticini's La Pâtisserie des Rêves and the way he decorated his boutiques.

Sabrina was my obvious first choice at J'aime Bien Pâtisserie. This is their signature pastry with layers of sponge cake and strawberry cream topped with a thin slice of chocolate marzipan. The texture is one of a kind but not out of this world (5/10).

I was less impressive with their orange and jasmine tea mousse cake which combined jasmine
tea mousse with lady finger, orange parfait and orange julienne (3/10).
