Jouer Pâtisserie (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

Tucked away in a quiet corner on Sau Wa Fong of Wanchai, Jouer Pâtisserie is a newly opened macaron shop which also doubles as a lifestyle concept retail store selling different types of vintage accessories and home products.

Behind Jouer is cordon bleu alumni, Anne who shows her passion for French pastry and home decor by combining the two in her 800 square foot "playground". Her shop features a gallery-style display area where her impressive collection of home furniture and accessories is put on display.

For a moment, I thought I was going into an open house!

For the time being, Jouer Pâtisserie is selling mini macarons with selective flavors only. The flavors change from time to time depending on a certain theme.

Take early April as an example, when the shop was doing an Asian theme, the entire space was decorated with Asian flavors and even the mini macarons could be found with different funky local flavors including Hong Kong-style milk tea, Chinese vinegar & ginger and turnip cake. They have since switched to an European theme and the current maracon selection includes white truffle, whiskey etc.

A six-pack is currently selling at HK$100. Not cheap.
