I'm back at Garosu-gil looking for something sweet after an amazing lunch at Mingles. There are quite a bit of options here but Mr. Holmes Bakehouse's signature cruffins show up on top of my list.
Originally from San Francisco, Mr. Holmes Bakehouse is one of my favorite bakery in Seoul and it's not all because of their cruffins. Their bricohe donuts and croissants are also some of the best in the business.
I guess at 5pm on a Saturday afternoon, it would be insane to think that their signature cruffins are still available. At the end of the day, I have to settle for their brioche donut and Ferrero Rocher croisstant instead.
Brioche Donut (2,800 won) - A bit overshadowed by the cruffins, the brioche donut is arguably the second most popular item on Mr. Holmes Bakehouse's menu.
The sugared pillow-soft donut is filled with custard cream. Very nice.
Ferrero Rocher croisstant (4,400 won) - Another can't miss item on their menu. The super flaky croissants come in a number of flavors including this very popular ferrero rocher flavor. Very tasty and addictive as always.
Note: Mr. Holmes Bakehouse closes at 10:30pm daily but their bakery items go a lot faster than that (especially their cruffins) so plan your itinerary carefully if you don't want to miss their signature creations.
