I have to admit that Hongdae is one of my least favorite area in Seoul for many different reasons. The biggest turn-off for me is the crowd. They are anywhere and everywhere, and just impossible to avoid.
But then there are the appeals. For ladies, it's the boutiques and fashion stores. And there's the highly overrated food scene that includes street food stalls, snack shops, cafes and coffee joints.

Haitairo specializes in soft ice-cream including a signature milk soft serve with potato chips seasoned with honey butter (second one on the bottom row).
But we were feeling a little adventurous this afternoon. Instead of having a soft serve, we tried to hit a homerun with one of their new offerings.
This is a really weird dessert, hazelnut ice-cream bar dipped in a hazelnut drink. I don't see how that would work. The ice-cream bar melted really quickly and the next thing I knew, we had a super concentrated hazelnut drink in a lukewarm temperature. Is that what we were supposed to get??? 😅
