This is the third outlet of Tony Wong's famed pâtisserie but the first one to include a dessert bar where customers can sit down and enjoy a slice of cake along with a cup of tea, coffee or chocolate.
Reading from the poster just outside of the dessert bar, we found all these rules and regulations - minimum charge of $50 per head, maximum 1-hour stay and you can't be seated unless your party has all arrived at the same time. Well fair enough...

Each tea set is going for about $70-80 depending on what you order for dessert and it includes a drink of your choice.
Checking at the pastry counter, I was a little disappointed that they didn't have anything new on display.

First to the test was the blackcurrant yoghurt cake with infused black currant confit surrounded by a strong layer of yoghurt mousse. I thought it was a tad too sour for my palates (4/10).

It's the time of year for yellow and white peach so I was not totally surprised to see this white peach shortcake at all. Very simple recipe. I liked this a little better than the black currant yoghurt for its refreshing flavor (5/10).

I had a glass of iced chocolate to pair with my white peach shortcake. Didn't expect the same quality as Angelina but.....this tasted a little like glue. Way too thick and bitter (2/10).

We find the quality of Tony Wong's pastries on a steady decline. There are much fewer new products coming out and even some older ones like lychee dome (used to be my favorite), they don't make them anymore. I guess that's the sacrifice when you have a few outlets now - with the mass production, the quality is taking a beating.
