Page One’s newest concept store at Harbour City finally opened at the end of September and during this weekend, we got the chance to check it out first hand. This is perhaps one of the biggest bookstores in Hong Kong (maybe second only to Eslite Bookstore at Hysan Place). In fact, when we dig a little deeper, we realized that it's not only a bookstore. It's a lifestyle store selling books, furniture, home products and food all under one roof.
This new 2-story concept store covers more than 30,000 square feet of real estate. There are 2 cafés inside the premise - Rose Bakery and Café Forestry, the latter being Page One’s very own brand.
The forest-themed Café Forestry sports a typical nordic café look combining a cheerful and light-filled environment with all-white furniture.
Too bad we had plans for dinner already so didn't get the chance to sit down for a drink. Instead, we decided to take a few of their cakes home.
Interestingly enough, all of their cakes look exactly the same except the difference in color. There are about 8-10 flavors available and my recommendation is go with the strawberry trio and oreo mousse cake.
According to reports from a few newspaper sources, the idea behind this new concept store is to prompt the young generation to put aside their smartphones (at least for a while) by indulging themselves in the books, food and space at the same time here.
