To be brutally honest here, I don't usually go to Cova coz their cakes look (and taste) a little "old school" sometimes, although I must admit some of their latest creations were actually quite good.
Last month, I did try their 1-pound Autunnale. The Autunnale which is only available in fall, consists of two layers of Sacher cake filled with mixture of chestnut cream, diced syruped chestnuts and chestnut puree. I thought it was a little too heavy for me. Didn't really enjoy it but I decided to give them another chance to redeem themselves.

This time, we had a trio of their smaller pastries.
Oatmeal Sundae, 6.5/10
Whole wheat biscuit base with oatmeal mousse and Baileys topped with fresh raspberry and baked oatmeal. This was very light and flaky. Not bad at all (6.5/10).

Dark & White Chocolate Cream, 7/10
Chocolate biscuit base with layers of chocolate sponge cake, dark chocolate cream and white chocolate cream. It tasted a little like a light chocolate mousse with marshmallow. I like this one.

Mango dome, 6.5/10
Three layers of chiffon sponge cake sandwiching fresh mango and cream in the middle. The texture was soft and fluffy with very nice layering effect.

Still one of the best in Hong Kong. No question about it.
