ANA InterContinental Tokyo (Tokyo, JAPAN)

I absolutely hated flying on a red-eye but owing to our very tight schedule, we decided to make an exception this time around. Jelloman is starting the business part of her trip in a few days so we had to take advantage of the weekend ahead to take care of some unfinished business in the food capital of Asia.

We're staying at ANA InterContinental Tokyo where her upcoming event is held. By 7:30am, we were already at the reception but was cruelly denied access to our room since the front desk team claimed we didn't request for early check-in. We were asked to pay extra but of cuz, Jelloman won't go down without a fight.

So, while the ladies got at it, I took a jog around the hotel lobby. Yeah, it was a bit quiet since most guests should still be in bed.

Well, one of the things I was really looking forward to was a trip to Pierre Gagnaire Pains et Gateaux on the lobby floor.

Finally, Jelloman won her fight and we were offered our key without further damage. This was my first stay at this hotel and as advertised, it's one with a rich history (in other words, old!).

The carpet, furniture etc. etc. have all seen better days. I think it's due for a major renovation, like yesterday.

Like the early check-in request, obviously we also didn't ask for a room with a view. But I guess that's not important at this stage. It's time to catch up with our sleep and hopefully, we wake up in time for a late lunch!
