Victoria Duck 城中鴨子 (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★★☆

Little nugget who has been stuck home all week, is itching to go out to play. I decided to grant him his wish but to stay safe, we opted to go out a little earlier than usual to avoid the crowd. Since little nugget will be picking his Christmas present from Toy R Us all in one go, we decided to simply have lunch at Harbour City. To our pleasant surprise, the once-popular Victoria Duck (城中鴨子) was almost empty when we arrived.

Pan-fried baby oyster, duck egg (土鴨蛋脆煎蚵仔) - Our favorite dish to start off the meal here. The crispy duck egg omelette was again very very good, and not surprisingly, working wonderfully well with the briny baby oysters.

Stir-fried Shanghai noodles, shredded pork, cabbage (上海粗炒麵) - Everyone looked really hungry this morning. Little nugget was supposed to have the noodles all to himself but it was finished off even before he could get a refill. I have to admit, the noodles were pretty tasty, coming right out of the kitchen.

Barbecued Peking duck (烤北京填鴨) - Now the main event.

It's been a while since we last had Peking duck for lunch so everyone was all geared up for it. I ended up having quite a few of these paper-thin pancakes with crispy duck skin, cucumber and hoisin (no scallion please!). Yum~

Deep-fried crab claws with minced prawn (百花釀蟹鉗) - And just when everyone thought we were done, these babies arrived!

The crab claw stuffed with minced prawn, was deep fried to golden brown color. It was little one's first encounter with these crab claws and he's loving them!
