ChaTraMue Tsim Sha Tsui (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★★☆

I got a little wet walking back from Soho to Central MTR station. It was already getting a bit late so I got on a train in a hurry and started making my way home. It was a productive afternoon (first lunch at Tenku Ryugin and then dessert at Doubleshot by Cupping Room) and I certainly thought I did enough to maximize on my annual leave. But wait, there's one more thing I could do to make this afternoon even more eventful - to see my hair stylist! So, I pinged my hair stylist to see if he has an opening for me and to my surprise, he did!

After getting my hair done, I walked around Tsim Sha Tsui a bit (since I haven't been there for ages) and there I stumbled upon ChaTraMue, the Thai Tea specialist who has just opened here not long ago. This was probably the third or fourth time I walked past their new store but it was the first time that I spotted no lineup crowding in front of the place.

ChaTraMue was founded some 75 years ago in Thailand, specializing in authentic Thai milk tea and green tea beverages. After opening its first Hong Kong flagship store in Causeway Bay in 2019, ChaTraMue brought their dessert and beverages across the harbour to Tsim Sha Tsui. Obviously, their bread and butter is their iced Thai milk tea and Thai milk tea soft serve.

They also have a collection of Japanese inspired dessert and beverages including their green tea and hojicha flavored milk tea, latte and soft serve.

Of course being a purist, I had to check out their traditional iced Thai milk tea. For decades, I had a tough time finding authentic Thai milk tea in Hong Kong until Greyhound and Mango Tree (both imports from Thailand) came along but I thought ChaTraMue was even better. Perfectly milky with lots of sweetened condensed milk. Absolutely love this~
