Flora (Seoul, SOUTH KOREA) ★★★★☆

When it comes to casual Italian fare in Seoul, no place pleases me more than Flora (플로라 삼청점). Owner-chef Cho Woo-Hyun, an award winning chef from different cooking competitions in the international stage, is very passionate about his Italian style which comes with an interesting Korean kick.

This little Italian restaurant is situated in the hilly Samcheongdong (don't try walking from Anguk which is the closest metro station. Get yourself a cab if you can!) and it is the perfect place for a quiet and relaxing meal.

The dining area provides a very warm and cozy atmosphere for casual dining with friends and family.

Obviously Chef Cho is very proud of his track records from international competitions. Look at all those medals!

English menu.....that's always a plus in Seoul.

As always, we started things off with a trio of bread, olive oil and vinegar.

If you're visiting Flora for the first time (or second, third time...), my recommendation is to go with their oyster pasta (₩21,000) which is actually a seafood pasta with a super creamy oyster sauce.

Another great choice here is their Pesce (₩21,000), a seafood pasta in a rich fish and tomato broth. I love the ramen-style pasta which is the perfect match for the broth.
