Treasures & Scent The Langham Shenzhen 珍藏坊 深圳東海朗廷酒店 (Shenzhen, CHINA) ★★★★☆

Treasures and Scent (珍藏坊) is a French boulangerie and pâtisserie located on the second floor of The Langham Shenzhen (東海朗廷酒店), offering some of the finest baked goods and desserts in the city. It’s about a five‑minute walk from Chegongmiao Station (車公廟站) and directly connected to East Pacific Paradise (東海繽紛天地).

I had long heard that Treasures and Scent was home to some of the best French desserts in Shenzhen. Still, the lack of direct metro station access (thus the need to walk outdoors) had always dampened my motivation to visit. However, with no fixed plans this afternoon, I finally decided it was time to check it off my list.

After placing my order at the counter, I was invited to take a seat in the café. The place was bright and spacious, with a relaxed atmosphere where guests were enjoying a cup of tea and exquisite pastries, clearly having a slow afternoon.

Jasmine Grapefruit (茉莉葡萄柚) (¥68) — As usual, refined French desserts in Shenzhen don’t come cheap, and this one carried a similarly hefty price tag.

The mousse itself was beautifully delicate, with a light and silky texture. However, the jasmine notes were largely overshadowed by the richness and intensity of the grapefruit mousse and the compote at the middle, leaving the floral element more subdued than I first hoped.

I'm glad to finally put this one in the books. Now, time to really find a place for my late lunch.

10 of The Best Tiramisu in Hong Kong (2026)

It has been nearly 10 years since I last wrote about my favorite Italian dessert and where to get them in Hong Kong. A lot of these places have come and gone in the past decade so I thought I should refresh this list to reflect my top 10 tiramisu in Hong Kong now.

1) Tosca
Tosca has always got one of the best traditional tiramisu in town with the picture perfect texture. The fact that they've added limoncello, a lemon-flavored Italian liqueur, has made this even more refreshing and irresistible.

A recent review of my meal at Tosca can be found here.

Address: 102/F The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, International Commerce Centre, 1 Austin Road West, West Kowloon, Hong Kong
Tel: +852 2263-2263
Website: www.ritzcarlton.com/en/hotels/china/hong-kong/dining/tosca

2) Grissini
The signature Tiramisu All'Amaretto at Grissini in the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong is widely regarded as one of the best in the city. Celebrated for its traditional preparation and intense flavor profile, it delivers a truly memorable experience.

A generous splash of Amaretto, combined with super fluffy sabayon and rich, creamy Galbani mascarpone, creates a delightful harmony of flavors. Adding to the elegance of the experience, the tiramisu is served tableside, elegantly scooped from a large ceramic bowl.

Address: 2/F Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, 1 Harbour Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong

3) Carna by Dario Cecchini
The Tiramisù di Casa at Carna by Dario Cecchini is one of the restaurant's most celebrated signature dishes and has quickly became one of my recent favorites in town. Renowned for its impressive presentation and traditional Italian flavors, it is frequently hailed by diners as one of the best in Hong Kong.

The dessert features thick, velvety mascarpone cream and Savoiardi biscuits soaked in aromatic coffee, all combined with chocolate for a decadent finish. With its generous portion, it can easily be shared among three to four people.

A recent review of my meal at Carna by Dario Cecchini can be found here.

Address: 39/F, Mondrian Hotel, 8A Hart Avenue, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong

4) Cannubi Enoteca Cucina
The Classic Tiramisu at Cannubi Enoteca Cucina in K11 Musea is a signature dessert that exemplifies the culinary expertise of 3-Michelin-starred chef Umberto Bombana.

The exquisite dish features a lavish combination of silky mascarpone, a home-blend coffee and traditional ladyfingers. The result is a beautifully balanced dessert, highlighting the satisfying interplay of coffee and cream.

Address: Shop 113A, 1/F, K11 Musea, Victoria Dockside, 18 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong
Tel: +852 2133-4903

5) BluHouse
BluHouse at Rosewood Hong Kong is widely celebrated for its tiramisu, presenting an authentic and thoughtfully crafted interpretation of this classic Italian dessert.

The recipe features traditional ladyfingers, espresso, and dark cocoa, but what sets it apart is the unique twist of "Eggnog" Zabaione. Known for its slightly firmer texture rather than a light and airy consistency, this dessert guarantees a creamy, indulgent, and thoroughly satisfying experience.

A recent review of my meal at BluHouse can be found here.

Address: G/F, Rosewood Hong Kong, 18 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong

6) Pici
The tiramisu at Pici, a popular pasta bar by the Pirata Group in Hong Kong, is billed as a "unfussy" dessert served in a simple, rustic glass.

This classic Italian recipe features layers of creamy mascarpone, espresso-soaked ladyfingers, and a dusting of cocoa powder, offering a delightful experience that embodies a "less-is-more" ethos.

A recent review of my meal at Pici can be found here.

Address: Shop G03, G/F, D2 Place TWO, 15 Cheung Shun Street, Lai Chi Kok, Hong Kong
Tel: +852 2557-7009

7) Ask for Alonzo
Alonzo’s signature tiramisu is a staple dessert at Ask for Alonzo, a popular modern Italian trattoria with multiple locations in Hong Kong.

The dessert features a relatively light mascarpone mousse, espresso-kissed savoiardi biscuits, and a subtle touch of Marsala wine, creating a delicate balance between sweetness and bitterness. Its texture is ideal for those who prefer a custardy consistency over a fluffy, foamy one.

A recent review of my meal at Ask for Alonzo can be found here.

Address: Shop 19, G/F, Hang Fung Mansion, 17-19 Wong Nai Chung Road, Happy Valley, Hong Kong
Tel: +852 2891-2236

8) Zozzona
The Japanese-Italian fusion bistro offers a "Tokyo counter-style" tiramisu that stands apart from those typically found in traditional pastry shops. Like the one at Grissini, it is served tableside and scooped directly onto guests' plates.

The recipe here features a creamy mascarpone and rich Marsala sabayon, all finished with a delicate dusting of cocoa powder. While it may be considered slightly moist, it evokes memories of some of the best tiramisu I've tasted on the streets of Rome.

Address: Flat A, G/F, 29-31 Hillwood Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong
Tel: +852 7073-8825

9) Check In Taipei (臺北棧)
Taro-misu (芋泥提拉米蘇) is a signature creative fusion dessert at Check-In Taipei, a modern Taiwanese restaurant with locations in Harbour City (Tsim Sha Tsui), Causeway Bay, and Central.

This dessert puts a Taiwanese twist on the classic Italian tiramisu by substituting traditional flavors with creamy, vanilla-like, mildly earthy taro. It features a thick, velvety layer of homemade taro purée placed directly over the ladyfingers, offering a dense, natural sweetness and an "extra kick" of taro flavor.

While it retains classic tiramisu components like mascarpone cream, ladyfingers, and Marsala wine, Taro-misu truly stands out with its vibrant purple hue, achieved by replacing cocoa powder with vivid purple taro powder.

A recent review of my meal at Check In Taipei can be found here.

Address: Shop 2204-6, 2/F, Harbour City, Gateway Arcade, 5 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong
Tel: +852 3595-0995

10) Minimal (迷你毛)
A hidden gem in Sham Shui Po, Minimal presents its "non-traditional" tiramisu with a unique presentation and flavor profile. Often referred to by patrons as a "Tiramisu Ball" due to its spherical shape, this dessert offers a fresh take on the classic.

While retaining many of the traditional tiramisu ingredients, this version delivers a more pronounced coffee and Amaretto flavor, with a texture reminiscent of frosty ice cream.

Yung Kee 容記小菜王 (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

It’s been two weeks since I last met up with mom so I decided to ring her up to check up on her this afternoon. When I reached her, she was home doing nothing special. A late lunch together perhaps? Since she’s a fan of traditional dim sum, I immediately knew where to meet up, this old Chinese restaurant near her place  Yung Kee (容記小菜王).

This is an area that I know fairly well from my childhood days. My grandma used to live just a stone’s throw away, and so did my aunt and uncles. Every time I stopped by, it felt like a walk down memory lane.

Steamed rice rolls (軟滑白腸粉) — The picture looked really nice on the menu but it arrived in a slightly disappointing state without the sauce. It took a while but we finally got our condiments.

Pan-fried turnip cake (香煎蘿蔔糕) — The texture was quite nice, but it could have used more Chinese sausage and mushrooms to elevate the dish.

Steamed shrimp dumpling (太子蝦餃皇) — This was decent. For a traditional dim sum place, I expected it to be packed with coriander, but it came with diced shrimp, shrimp mousse, and crunchy bamboo shoots only.

Steamed shrimp dumpling with spinach (鮮蝦菜苗餃) — Mom wanted some veggies and of course, I am happy to oblige with this dish.

Steamed chicken with mushroom and fish maw (北菇棉花雞) — OK.

Catching up with my mom was wonderful, and it felt even better to revisit a neighborhood that used to be so significant to my childhood. Perhaps, I should come here more often.

Zozzona (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★★☆

Inspired by Tokyo's neighborhood pasta bars, Zozzona is a recently opened Japanese-Italian pasta joint nestled between Jordan and Tsim Sha Tsui that has quickly gained popularity among the younger generation of diners. This modern bistro specializes in fresh, handmade pasta, served in a casual vibe perfect for sharing among larger groups.

Zozzona opens at 5:00pm for dinner service, and I wasted no time getting the first seating to satisfy my craving for handcrafted pasta dishes. Not surprisingly, I was the first to arrive.

The industrial-vibe space blends elements of a Japanese izakaya and an Italian bistro harmoniously. It serves a daily omakase menu as well as an à la carte menu. Interestingly, the starters, like Kagoshima hiramasa crudo and Akami tuna tataki, caught my eye before I even glanced at the pasta dishes.

Pappardelle wagyu beef ragù ($178) — It was a little early for a full dinner (starter + pasta or main), so I faced a dilemma in choosing between a simple pasta and a starter. In the end, I realized that it was inevitable for me to choose a pasta dish while visiting a pasta bar for the first time.

The pappardelle wasn't bad, but it didn't have the same freshness as the handmade pasta from my neighborhood pasta bar, Pici. That said, I did enjoy the generous portion of wagyu beef, the lone bright spot of the dish.

Tiramisu ($78) — After slurping up the flat white tiramisu at Page Common Coffee House less than an hour ago, it was time to check in on another tiramisu. This one was made with a more classic recipe.

Zozzona's tiramisu was supposed to be scooped from a ceramic container onto guests' plate but since I ordered it to go, I had to recreate the scene on my plate. I really enjoyed the larger proportion of creamy mascarpone and rich Marsala sabayon here with a smaller portion of ladyfinger biscuits. It was light, fluffy and full of flavors reminding me of some of the best tiramisu I've tasted on the streets of Rome (There was this place in Rome called Ristorante Alla Rampa that had the perfect "Lift Me Up").

Page Common Coffee House (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

While I am not a coffee enthusiast myself, I do my occasional café hopping from time to time and indulgence on desserts has become part of the experience. Last week, I came across a list of the best tiramisu in Hong Kong, where the author praised Page Common Coffee House for its delectable version of the classic Italian dessert. Of course, I couldn’t wait to find out more myself.

Tucked away from the hustle bustle of Jordan/Tsim Sha Tsui district, Page Common Coffee House is a coffee shop hidden on the ground floor of boutique hotel Page 148 (晉致酒店)

I decided to drop by for a quick treat, not realizing that the coffee shop shares its space with the hotel lobby. Due to the limited real estate, I found it impossible to find a vacant seat on this busy afternoon.

Eventually, I settled at a table right next to the counter for returned trays, plates, and glasses. It wasn’t the most comfortable setting, but I made the best of it. This was when I spotted this afternoon tea set featuring a dessert and a drink for $85 only. Not a bad deal at all.

Matcha latte  A pretty decent start.

Homemade tiramisu — Known for its signature flat white tiramisu, Page Common's version of the Italian classic features a lighter, more creamy mascarpone texture and a delicate cocoa finish. The dessert was well-balanced, soft, and not too heavy.

I didn’t know much about a flat white tiramisu so I went onto the internet to dig a little deeper. Then, I realized it is a modern twist on the classic Italian dessert that incorporates the components of a flat white coffee — typically strong espresso and silky, creamy milk into the mascarpone layers and biscuit soak. Thanks to the use of white chocolate, cold brew coffee, or specially crafted creamy espresso mixtures, this rendition offers a smoother, less bitter flavor profile.

This was evident in its appearance: the tiramisu had a notably whiter color (perhaps no egg yolk?) and a noticeably softer, wobbly texture. While I liked this mouthfeel, I found myself not enjoying the flavors as much due to the lack of complexity in its flavors. The usual eggy taste, sweetness, and bitterness were somewhat absent, making it a more "laid-back" version of the dessert.

I still have one more stop on my gastronomic journey today — an early dinner at Zozzona, a pasta bar gaining serious attention on social media. I’m looking forward to this!

Daap (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★★☆

I am going back to Sheung Wan this afternoon to scratch an itch which has been bothering me for more than a year. Daap, helmed by chef Luke Chan, has been wowing guests with his fusion dishes for a few years now. I had the pleasure of visiting this hidden gem in Sheung wan twice in 2024 but never quite found the time for a return trip in 2025. Today, all the stars are finally aligned.

As usual, I found a quiet corner at the counter table where I can enjoy watching the chef at work.

Roasted chestnut soup — The soup was, once again, silky smooth with a wonderful, delicate chestnut flavor. Its thickness reminded me of a traditional Chinese chestnut sweet soup, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The only part of the soup that didn't quite hit the mark was the pan-fried morel mushrooms, which were slightly on the hard side today.

150-days grain fed M4+ oyster blade steak — My first time having anything other than the chef’s great pasta dish. The steak from Australia was really tender, and meltingly juicy.

I liked the buttery black bean beurre blanc but I thought the black bean could have been a little more pronounced to make it stand out more.

So happy to finally scratch this itch at last. I am taking the afternoon off from work so I have all the time in the world to explore the old streets in SoHoI heard there have been many exciting changes lately.

Eonsona Massage Spa PAFC Mall 玖玖 · 予頌 平安金融中心店 (Shenzhen, CHINA)

My better half has been really addicted to this massage place called 玖玖 these days. They have numerous locations across Shenzhen, with most specializing in body and foot massage. Personally, I'm not a big fan of foot massages, so I never really tag along with her on her spa treatments.

But today was a different story. I was in Shenzhen alone and I spotted this new concept operated by the same group at PAFC Mall (平安金融中心). It was branded as Eonsona Massage Spa (玖玖 · 予頌), dedicated to high-end spa treatment. With time to spare this afternoon, I decided to give it a shot.

The place had just opened about a month ago, and since it was around 5pm on a Wednesday afternoon, there wasn’t a full lineup of customers.

Of course, I requested a quiet room away from the reception and rest area.

It has been a tough month at work thus far, so I thought I fully deserved a break — a mental break of 60 minutes without thinking about work or anything else. Just lights out!

The massage was really nice. I particularly enjoyed the oil treatment, which was not too greasy at all. While walking down the corridor back to the reception area, I had a chance to check out the bigger rooms. This one was for three people.

And this room was for four, complete with a big screen TV. Little nugget would love that.

Tao Tao Ju One Avenue 陶陶居 卓悦中心店 (Shenzhen, CHINA) ★★★★☆

I’m back in Shenzhen for some solo game time this afternoon. On a Wednesday, I wasn't expecting a crowd.

First things first, it’s been a while since I last visited Tao Tao Ju (陶陶居)my go-to dim sum place in Shenzhen. So, I quickly ventured over to One Avenue (卓悦中心). Not surprisingly, there was no one waiting in line.

Tao Tao Ju jumbo prawn dumpling (陶陶居大蝦餃) (¥36) — Why would I start my meal with anything other than TTJ’s signature har gow? As usual, they were incredibly satisfying, although tackling all three by myself was no easy feat. In retrospect, I realize I enjoy a little friendly “fighting” with little nugget over his har gow! 😂😂

Mixed noodles with shrimp roes and scallion oil (蝦籽蔥油撈麵) (¥33) — One of my goals this afternoon was to try a couple of items on the menu that I had never sampled before.

The mixed noodles were decent, but I thought they could have been a little more generous with the shrimp roes.

Abalone-shaped brown sugar rice cake (金鮑賀歲年糕) (¥13) — They have a few dishes designed specifically for Chinese New Year 🧧, and this one topped my list since I'm a sucker for Chinese brown sugar rice cake (年糕).

Look how beautiful this was! I could hardly believe it wasn’t a real abalone! Sticky and chewy (in a good way), and perfectly balanced.

To make it resemble a braised abalone dish, they’ve drizzled a thick, gluey brown sugar sauce that mimicked a traditional abalone sauce. It got me completely fooled!

That was all the time I had for my quick lunch. Now, it’s off to the arcade centre to enjoy my uninterrupted gaming session.
