Kedai Kopi Semua Semua (蘇媽.蘇媽馬來西亞茶餐室) has been an itch I was unable to scratch during the pandemic. The Malaysian restaurant and café created a small buzz in the social media since its opening so as an Asian food lover, it immediately caught my attention. Unfortunately, its locations were a bit out of reach for us (Causeway Bay, Tsuen Wan, Sham Shui Po and Mongkok) so I never got that chance. But we have the perfect chance this afternoon as little nugget has rugby class in CWB and our schedule wide open thereafter.
The café boasts décor of an old Chinese herbal tea shop which was very interesting and instagrammable (Singaporean style too of cuz)!
First up, an iced winter melon longan tea (冬瓜龍眼茶) to cool myself down after running up and down the side lines with little one in his rugby class.
Here comes our snacks.....
Kaya Toast (椰香咖央多) – My favorite Singaporean breakfast or afternoon tea snack. For me, it’s more of an all-day snack. Unlike the traditional ones seen at Toast Box and Killiney Kopitiam, it came with this light greenish kaya instead of a much darker colored one. Also in play was fragrant coconut flavors and if my palate didn’t lie, some shredded coconut too.
This certainly wasn’t bad but I’m a purist when it comes to kaya toast so these are really no competition to the ones served at Ya Kun and Toast Box with a crispy toast, a flavorful kaya spread and thick slab of butter.
Strawberry and cheese mochi (草莓芝士糯米糍) – Little nugget was looking for something frosty and thirst quenching after all the exercise he had today (Taekwondo and rugby) and he thought he found his cure with this sweet treat. These came with strawberry jam and cream cheese in the middle. Not bad.
