Alma Portuguese Grill (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

Like most of my typical weekends, I didn't get out of bed until pretty late so unsurprisingly when I did manage to arrive at the podium of Harbour City this afternoon, it was already 2:20pm. Thankfully, the newly opened Alma Portuguese Grill from Drawing Room Concepts was still open for lunch so I didn't have to head over to BLT Burger again.

We got a pretty nice view of the harbour from where we were sitting.

I haven't taken one of these Star Ferries across the harbour for a while.

Maybe I should do it today right after lunch.....

This is a pretty big and spacious dining area Alma Portuguese Grill has here. I bet it can easily seat about 100 people.

The set lunch was surprisingly affordable at around $100 per head. We got to pick out of 3 starters including this Algarve salad which was just average.

The second starter was chargrilled Piri-Piri chicken wings.

Last but not least, fried eggs with chorizo......

While the starters were nothing to write home about, the main dishes provided pretty good bang for the buck. Braised pork cheek with brussel sprouts and mashed potato was not bad.

Better was the signature chargrilled Piri-Piri spring chicken with French fries.

Bairrada roasted suckling pig with French fries was another pretty popular dish around here.

I was really pleasantly surprised with this Dobrada (beef tripe) served with chorizo, chickpeas and fried white rice. Haven't had beef tripe as tender and tasty since that one time at Linguini Fini many years ago.

For a little over $100, everyone got a starter, main and drink, not too bad for a restaurant with a harbour view at the Harbour City at all!
