Jelloman has a handful of business engagements to attend in Tokyo this week, and her company has placed her at the ANA InterContinental Tokyo — fairly often the case, since it’s conveniently located near the middle of her activities. I decided to tag along on the trip, although I’d largely be on my own for most of the time.
One of the main advantages of staying at the ANA InterContinental is that it’s one of the stops served by the airport limousine service, which makes getting around from/tp the airport much easier.
Along with the central location, those were the key reasons we enjoyed staying at the hotel. But there are also some significant downsides. One thing I didn’t like right away was the lobby. It’s extremely busy and noisy. It always seemed crowded with people rushing around.
The room itself also feels like it needs a serious facelift.
The interior design, furniture, and wallpaper all look tired and uninviting.
The bathroom is the same story, and I also wasn’t happy with the lighting.
Another issue we ran into during this stay was the sound insulation. It was almost nonexistent. Since our room faced the overpass/bridge directly, the noise level was bad enough to keep us from sleeping well at night.
We’re starting to get a bit bored with this hotel. We still love the location especially the convenience of the nearby metro lines but the negative aspects are starting to really get on our nerves.
