Kamitora Tonkotsu 神虎麵商店 (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

Another long meeting is expected this afternoon so I won't have the luxury of a full one-hour lunch today after all the traveling. It's been a while since I last visited The Pawn so they're obviously very high on my list while Five Guys also received some consideration (but no milkshake still!) but at the end of the day, I decided to get a bowl of ramen noodles at Kamitora Tonkotsu (神虎麵商店).

Hailed from Osaka, Kamitora Tonkotsu is a place highly touted for its rich pork bone broth.

That's our chef right there I was told!

Kamitora Ramen (神虎拉麵) ($98) - Kamitora offers 5 different flavors of ramen soup ranging from their signature tonkotsu ramen to ones with miso-based (with shrimp) broth as well as black garlic oil. As a fan of rich pork bone broths, I went with their creamy Kamitora Ramen which is tonkotsu-based and also happened to be their top seller.

The noodles weren't bad. I was told that their noodles often got soft and mushy after absorbing the rich broth but this looked like an improved version. No such problem.

Pork meatball - The meatballs were nice and firm. I like them~

Barbecued pork - The char siu tasted a lot better than it looked to be honest. Soft and very tender.

Soft-boiled egg - The soft-boiled egg wasn't marinated which was just fine considering the broth was already super rich.

Obviously, the calling card for Kamitora Tonkotsu is their super rich pork bone broth. Looks like they have already brought their signature tonkotsu ramen to China.
