Like Nara back home, Apinara will be serving contemporary Thai cuisine with classic Thai dishes such as phad Thai, pandan chicken, tom yum kung soup and grilled pork neck as the focal point of their food menu.
Thai milk tea ($45) - I went with something ice cold from the drink menu to get things rolling first. Always been a huge fan of Thai milk tea but this was just okay (obviously I was expecting better results). Perhaps a little bit less ice and a bit stronger tea flavor would do the trick. Looks like Greyhound has the upper hand here.
Stir-fried noodles with pork ($98) - This looks as if it has just come off the wok or pan. Steaming hot and very tasty. Pretty good portion too.
Stir-fried kale with Thai salted fish ($68) - Morning glory would have been my first choice but hey I didn't make the call this afternoon. This was pretty nice. Nice touch from the salted fish and chili.
Stir-fried rice noodles with prawns and roe paste ($98) - Like the previous stir-fried noodles with pork, the rice noodle was again perfect. This is probably a better choice for those into spicy food.
Grilled pork neck with papaya salad and sticky rice ($118) - So we're supposed to wrap everything together with the leaves. I love pork neck and these ones were real nice and thick. Succulent.
I thought the food here was reasonably priced (considering it's in PP) and well portioned. If there's a blemish about this meal, it's the fact that they didn't have three of my favorite dishes from Nara Thai - tapioca balls with minced pork filling, crab meat omelette and fish noodles with tom yum paste. That was a little disappointing.
