Paradise Inn 樂天客棧 (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★★☆

This is already my third visit to Olympian City's Paradise Inn (樂天客棧), the casual sister of Paradise Dynasty. This group, originated from Singapore, has really been expanding rapidly and I can see them expanding even more in the near future.



One thing I love about Paradise Inn is their impressive collection of Chinese comfort food. A lot of these home-style dishes can only be found at home, specially made by our grand-parents with their own special recipe!



Crisp-fried Crystal Prawns in Mayonnaise Sauce (沙律蝦球) - They have 3 different versions of this and the best was the one with the wasabi mayo. Too bad mom doesn't like spicy so we had to settle for this "original" flavor.



The prawns were crispy on the outside while nice and bouncy inside. The assorted fruits provided just enough sweetness to balance the acidity from the mayonnaise sauce. Very good dish.



Stir-fried Glutinous Rice (生炒糯米飯) - This is my second favorite dish right behind the crisp-fried crystal prawns. The stir-fried glutinous rice has the perfect bite with lots of Chinese sausages in it. Generally, this dish is known for having way too much oil but not right here, as every grain of rice is nice and dry.



Golden and Silver Eggs with Amaranth (金銀蛋莧菜) - Another classic home-style dish with amaranth simmered in a rich and flavorful broth.



Crisp-fried homemade seafood tofu (手工海鲜豆腐) - Having ordered this dish three times now, I am still trying to find out whether there's really tofu there. Don't get me wrong. These seafood tofu does taste great but I thought the texture felt a little more like Chinese turnip cake or fish cake.



Egg omelette with preserved turnip (菜脯煎蛋) - The only dish that failed to impress me tonight. This is very fluffy, which would have been nice if it's a Thai style egg omelette (with crab meat?). 



Lemongrass jelly with chilled lemonade (酸甘香茅凍) - Dessert was a no-brainer. I had this signature dessert three times already and I'm still longing for more. The lemongrass flavor was very refreshing and soothing to the palate. Very nice!
