We spent the afternoon walking around Hongdae (弘大), a popular region near Hongik University with all the trendy clubs, cafes and galleries in Seoul before returning to Myeongdong for dinner. Jelloman managed to squeeze in some shopping time before dinner while I strolled around the city’s busiest shopping streets for some random shots. Next up, it was time for Jelloman’s favorite Korean barbecue.
It was almost 10pm by the time we arrived at Hwaroyeon (火爐妍), Jelloman’s favorite Korean grill house in Myeongdong. The restaurant was obviously closing in about an hour so the manager was reluctant to let us in. But thankfully, after a couple of “negotiations” (and we promised to leave in an hour), they finally came to terms to serve us.
Some tofu, bean sprouts, kimchi and soup to start things off. The soup tasted particularly heart-warming for us on this cold December night.
As usual, Korean beef briskets and rib-eyes, accompanied by assorted mushrooms. The smell of charred beef……so gooood!!!
Mission accomplished and Jelloman a very happy camper!
