Ravintola Savoy (Helsinki, FINLAND) ★★★★☆

Helsinki is a city where we had very little difficulty finding a good restaurant. Located on the top floors of a commercial building on Eteläesplanadi, Ravintola Savoy is a great choice for a modern Nordic lunch.

And think of the stunning view of the city as a bonus.

The restaurant is divided into two sections - an indoor dining area and a covered terrace area. It's summer time so decided to take it outside (at the terrace).

This was the first time I had lamb's tongue and it tasted very much like ox's tongue. A delicate apple frost helped to form the perfect partnership.

A simple smoked salmon was next and it was served with orange, grapefruit and citrus.

Our main course kicked off with a poached perch with mixed corns and vegetables. That was another plus dish.

The best dish of the afternoon belonged to this roasted quail with mushrooms and barley and corns.Very savory, rich and flavorful.

Dessert was a refreshing one - rose jelly with ice-cream (forgot about the flavor). Perfect end to an enjoyable lunch.

After lunch, little window shopping at the shopping street of Eteläesplanadi before we head over to the historical fortress island of Suomenlinna.
