Little nugget has been asking for something sweet all week. While I was in Central to take care of a couple of things, I thought I should swing by the Lady M Boutique in IFC to get a few pastries in order to tame his sweet tooth.
Gâteau Nuage - This was our first experience with Lady M's cheesecake and surprisingly, it ranked right up there with Main Street Deli's famous New York cheesecake in terms of creaminess and richness.
The cinnamon-kissed graham cracker crust was a nice touch too. I like the thin layer of sweetened sour cream there to balance off the richness of the cheesecake. Very nice.
Red Velvet - The Red Velvet cake is back just in time for the holiday season.
Three layers of dark cocoa-rich sponge cake with smooth frosting were met with fresh whipped cream and cream cheese tucked in between each layer. This was pretty pillowy but it certainly paled in comparison with the Gâteau Nuage we had just now.
Gâteau aux Marrons - Mom had the in-season chestnut cake with chestnut infused cream,
two layers of almond flour cake and a soft whipped cream center, topped nicely with roasted walnuts and snow sugar.
As always, we can count on Lady M to deliver some of the best desserts in town.
