Le Fournil (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

Two weeks since I have returned from Japan, I'm finally getting back into the swing of things. Tonight, my relentless onslaught (of food) began in Kowloon City, a district best known for all its Thai restaurants but this time, it was their cake shops that have brought me over.



Le Fournil Boulangerie et Pâtisserie is a relatively new addition to the area and they specialize in authentic French bakery goods and pastries.



Green tea opera ($38) - Joconde biscuit with chocolate ganache and green tea butter cream. I thought the green tea flavors could have been a bit stronger and the texture a little more moist.



Mango passion fruit ($46) - More successful was the Mango Passion fruit, a silky smooth white chocolate mousse cake infused with mango and passion fruit cream.



Add this one to the long list of quality cake shops in Kowloon City. It's definitely worthy of a special visit.
