Mövenpick Restaurant Zur Historischen Mühle (Potsdam, GERMANY) ★★★☆☆

Potsdam is best known for its magnificent palaces, lakes, and parks with Sanssouci Park very much on top of the list. It's a massive park covering nearly 300 hectares of land. Right in the heart of the park is Sanssouci Palace, Frederick the Great’s summer residence and ultimately his favorite place through his good and bad times.

After spending more than 2 hours in the historic park, we were in desperate need of a place to rest our sore feet. Thankfully, there were a few restaurants and cafes inside the park, including Mövenpick Restaurant Zur Historischen Mühle near Historische Mühle von Sanssouci (Historic Mill of Sanssouci).

It was a very hot summer day here so we needed more than just food; some frosty drinks would really serve us well under this nasty heat.

Something to satisfy our sweet tooth, why not!?

A glasshouse inside a lush garden provides the perfect setting for our afternoon tea.

But no air-con......???

Mövenpick Restaurant has so much to offer than just desserts and drinks. There were starters (beef tartare, rolls etc.) and main (veal, pasta) but as we had dinner plans already, I decided to settle for a piece of cheesecake instead. This was very rich and filling.

Touted as one of the best chocolate cakes ever made in the world, Mövenpick's chocolate cake certainly looks good. Is that marshmallow in the middle?

Jelloman thought it would be a good idea to simply skip dinner altogether. Let's wait and see if I get my appetite back in Berlin.
