Jamie's Italian (London, UNITED KINGDOM) ★★★☆☆

I still remembered my very first cook book - one by Jamie Oliver titled "Happy Days with the naked chef". That was one of my early inspiration.

After the recent expansion that saw the celebrity chef's empire arriving at different cities in UK as well as Australia and Middle East, I was praying the next destination to be Hong Kong. But that never did materialize. So instead I decided to take matters into my own hands.

Just like the title of his book - Happy Days. There we were standing in front of the Jamie's Italian in Convent Garden. Happy days for us!

At 5:30pm, the place was already packed. Forget about privacy, everyone was just glad to have a table and who cares about rubbing shoulders while eating!

We started things on the right foot with a bowl of calamari that was absolutely divine.

The linguini with prawns and rocket leaves tossed in a light chili tomato sauce - spendid.

The squid ink risotto, well, slightly off.

But the tiramisu got us back on the right track.
