We didn't have to travel very long for our next destination after leaving Hyatt Regency Jeju.
The Shilla Jeju Hotel Seogwipo is another popular resort hotel in this Jungmun Beach area. Like Hyatt Regency Jeju, it has probably seen better days but yet it is still considered a luxury hotel on the island.
I was here looking for its cake shop and lounge cafe, Pastry Boutique on the lobby level.
Pastry Boutique also doubles as the hotel's bakery shop offering a small but adequate selection of bread.
My focus was solely on the pastries of course. There were a number of options ranging from risky ones like the apple-shaped mousse cake to safer bets including the chocolate mousse cake and Japanese style-roll cake.
Being the risk taker that I always am, I decided to go with their Earl Grey tart (12,000 won) instead.
This is certainly one of the most expensive dessert I've bought in Jeju Island so far.
The runny Earl Grey ganache looks really promising, meshing well with the milk chocolate mousse, crunchy shortbread crust and what I thought was Earl Grey sponge in the middle.
I have never had a really bad Earl Grey dessert in my life (coz I love Earl Grey). This was pretty delicious. It's slightly crunchy down the middle. Could that be feuilletine?
