Pierre Hermé rue Cambon (Paris, FRANCE) ★★★★☆

The news about Pierre Hermé coming to Hong Kong for the grand opening of his first boutique is heating up. The latest gossip indicated it would be the end of May at the IFC. But we decided not to wait the extra few weeks and instead go for a quick sneak preview of the man they called "Picasso of Pastry" right here in Paris.

Pierre Hermé is known for his work to revolutionize pastry-making. His artistic flair and creativity has undoubtedly put him over the top. Sichuan pepper with chocolate truffles; Valentine's Day supersweet macaron with caramel and rose; and preparing macaron creams with cucumber or cedar wood flavors. The guy is a genius.

(.....Free bicycle ride for every macaron purchase.....?)

Unfortunately, this Rue Cambon location did not have cakes available, strictly maracons and chocolates.

If you are a macaron fan, you will love Pierre Hermé. Apart from the regular sizes, they also got some jumbo-sized ones with exquisite flavors.

We got the creme brulee and praline and found them to be quite delicate, though slightly heavy. For whatever reason, I still like the jumbo ones from Paul Bakery better.
