King and I (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★☆☆☆

It’s been a while since I last set foot in Kwun Tong. The former industrial district has been under major revamp the last few years and not surprisingly, there was a lot of new residential buildings waiting to be unveil.

Of course, there was a reason why I was here. Our team was having a site visit at a vendor’s venue in the area. The master plan was to meet up at APM, grab a quick lunch and head over to see our vendor. Easy enough.

But APM turned out to be a nightmare of a place when it came to having lunch. We went to a number of places only to be told they were fully booked. Eventually, we had to settle for a Thai restaurant called King and I. Not until we sat down that I began to realize it’s a restaurant under the famed King Parrot Group.

I started things off with a small snack, a rice paper roll with duck meat and vegetables.

It was followed by my main dish, Hainanese chicken served with fragrant rice.

This was a very average dish, nothing to write home about.

Dessert was not included so instead of dropping a few more bucks, everyone opted to just settle the bill and take off. Good idea considering that the staff here weren’t really giving us an inviting atmosphere anyways.
