10 of The Best Cafés and Dessert Spots in Jeju Island

Apart from its sandy beaches and hiking trails, Jeju Island's vibrant coffee scene has been attracting tourists from around the world for years. To save you the trouble, here is a list of my favorite cafés and dessert spots in Jeju Island that are worth your time and money.

Espresso Lounge
The spacious two-story facility dedicated to coffee and bakery comes with its own in-house coffee roaster and bakery kitchen. Very nice hand-drip coffee and Americano, one of the best on the island. A great late-night hangout spot as it opens until late.

O'Sulloc Tea Museum
Just a short drive from Jeju Shinhwa World, O'Sulloc Tea Museum combines a green tea museum, gift shop and dessert cafe all under one roof. Check out their popular green tea beverages, desserts and more. Some of their special pastries (such as Halla Mountain green tea cake) are only available here in Jeju.

Yellow Café
People are obsessed with Korean banana milk, especially the Binggrae brand banana milk who took the Korean market by storm when they first came out with their iconic banana drink back in 1974. To pay homage to their banana desserts, the brand has opened Yellow Café, a space dedicated to all things about banana including banana flavored tea, milkshake, ice-cream and tiramisu. Apart from banana themed sweets, fans will also be treated to some of their own designer items such as shopping bags and toys.

Pastry Boutique at The Shilla Jeju Hotel Seogwipo
Like most cities in Asia, Jeju's best desserts and pastries can only be found in luxury 5-star hotels. For the most artful and creative pastries on the island, look no further than the Pastry Boutique on the third floor of The Shilla Jeju. Their apple-shaped green apple cake and delicious Earl Grey tart are two of the best I've seen from any dessert shop in Jeju. Not surprisingly, they do not come cheap but trust me, it's well worth the heavy price tag.

Margaux Bakery at Haevichi Hotel & Resort
Another bakery cum confectionery from an upscale resort hotel, Margaux Bakery is housed inside seaside Haevichi Hotel and Resort offering some of the best gourmet bread and French pastries in town. My personal favorites are their decadent caramel éclair and kaya bread, both will go well with their small selection of coffee and tea for a leisure afternoon tea.

Patisserie Ma Marron
Patisserie Ma Marron is a cake shop and tea salon dedicated to the sweeter things in life. From their marron themed cakes (thus the name) to classical French desserts (mille feuille, Saint Honore and lemon tart), everything is beautifully crafted here. Try their signature Mont Blanc tart; you won't regret making this special stop.

Café Delmoondo
Arguably one of the busiest cafés in Jeju thanks to its jaw-dropping view of Hamdeok Seubong Beach from the terrace. Enjoy a cup of piping hot coffee from their freshly roasted coffee beans and if you have enough time to spare, check out some of their homemade cakes like fondant au chocolat and Jeju carrot pound cake fresh out of their oven.

Antoinette (앙뚜아네트)
An elegant bakery café on touristy Tapdong-ro, just a stone's throw from Black Pork (Heuk-dwaeji) street. While its bakery goods may never match the quality of some of those previously mentioned here, it will certainly win with quantity. With no less than 100 different types of bread and pastries on display, it can get a little difficult to make up your mind (Trust me on this one!).

Whatever you end up getting at Antoinette, don't forget to wash it down with the always-popular Jeju matcha latte.
