Zzang 韓讚 (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★☆☆☆

Jelloman is calling the shots tonight and as a known koreaboo, it wasn't all that surprising that she has chosen Korean food over other popular choice for all of us. Out of the many Korean restaurants in Causeway Bay, she handpicked a new Korean place called Zzang (韓讚), which turns out to be just one of the two restaurants opened inside a newly renovated building by the name of Aura on Pennington.

Bibimbap with chicken ($88) - Getting the ball rolling was a simple bibimbap. We had a choice between beef and chicken, and Jelloman promptly went with chicken coz we had a little too much beef of late. This was pretty decent with a lot of rice crispies.

Korean style marinated pork knuckle ($168) - I will be off to China this weekend and since I knew I would probably have a lot of spicy food coming my way there, I decided to take a pass on barbecued meat or any kind of spicy dishes for that matters. Pork knuckle sounds like the perfect replacement right there.

But I thought this pork knuckle dish brought a whole new meaning to the word "marinated". Personally, I have never had something marinated that tasted as bland as this one! Disappointing...

Pan-fried seafood pancake ($108) - The pancake itself was alright but I didn't find much seafood in there other than a couple small pieces of octopus in microscopic size. Would have been much much better to have some shrimp in there for a bit of different texture and flavor.

It wasn't a very good pick by Jelloman and she knows it. I guess it's safe to say that she won't be calling any shots in the near future.
