Bib n Hops (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

After spending the last few weeks thinking about Korean barbecued meat, I finally decided to take action today.

I only got about 45 minutes to spare so Bib n Hops was the perfect choice since last time, the entire meal only took 30 minutes.

Head chef Yong Soo Do was nowhere to be found in the open kitchen today but that's understandable. Rumors had him really busy working on the third and fourth openings for the group (This time, it won't be Korean food though).

Pork bulgogi ($128) - I had their pork belly jumulleok with gochujang marinated Canadian pork belly and steamed vegetables last time around and thought I really enjoyed it a lot. This time, I tried to stick with a similar dish of pork bulgogi.

This was pretty much the same gochujang marinated pork except that they've replaced the pork belly with thinly sliced pork fillet. The supporting cast also looked fairly familiar with a simple lettuce wrap and condiments.

This was pretty nice but the portion was noticeably smaller comparing to my last visit. At the same time, I noted the price has gone up ever so slightly (from $108 to $128) while the salad was quietly replaced by a pretty forgettable daily soup. A sign of inflation hurting Hong Kong and its dining scene once again!
