Perfetto (Padova, ITALY) ★★☆☆☆

We decided to stop by Padova on our way to Venice because Jelloman wanted to check out a couple of stores in town.

It was Sunday so as expected, a lot of the local restaurants were closed but we were able to find Perfetto, a casual restaurant at La Rinascente Padova which was open for business.

Perfetto offers a variety of salads, sandwiches and burgers at pretty affordable price.

At first, I thought it was a self-served restaurant but no, they even helped to translate the menu for us since everything was in Italian.

It boasts a nice view of Colonna Madonna di Noli and Piazza Garibaldi, a key junction for traffic and gateway to Padova even in pre-Roman times.

Chicken strips and chips (5.9 euro) - The chicken strips were crispy and a little bouncy (texture wise). Not bad.

Classic club sandwich (7.9 euro) - This comes with parma ham, fried egg, cheese, tomato, lettuce and bacon. The whole nine yards! Not surprisingly, panini was used so it was a little more chewy.

Classic chicken burger with bacon, cheddar, lettuce and tomato (10.7 euro?) - We had a choice between chicken and beef, and wasted no time picking chicken. I thought the chicken fillet was fairly tasty and well seasoned but the rest of the burger wasn't particularly interesting.

For a pitstop between Verona and Venice, it certainly served its purpose (especially on a Sunday). Now we got another 45 minutes to go.
