Gelateria Marghera (Tokyo, JAPAN) ★★★☆☆

Tokyo is one of my favorite food capitals in the world but if there's one area that needs reinforcement, it's its choice of artisanal gelato. When it comes to gelato, there aren't really a lot of choices in the city and Gelateria Marghera is probably one of the safest bets around.

Originated from Milan, Gelateria Marghera can be found at the doorstep of Ebisu JR station just inside Atre Ebisu on the third floor. They serve up to 36 different flavors of gelato each day and some of which are Tokyo exclusives.

I'm here to check out one of their signature desserts, dopocena which is made with gelato and semifreddo.

Dopocena comes with all kinds of flavors including this dopocena marron glacé (700yen) made with chestnut gelato, milk gelato, caramelized chestnut and crushed pistachio.

Like the dopocenas, their biscotti is also a very popular item around here.

Biscotti earl grey (500yen) - Earl grey gelato and chunks of milk chocolate sandwiched between a pair of cookies, I thought this was pretty decent but personally, I like my dopocena a bit more.
