Mirabeau Chocolat (Seoul, SOUTH KOREA) ★★★☆☆

After spending a little bit of time visiting the City Hall, statue of Admiral Yi Sun-sin (李舜臣像) and Gyeongbokgung Palace in high noon, it's time to get our hands dirty at one of the most famous ginseng chicken soup restaurant (rotisserie chicken too) in the city - Tosokchon. But as I have learned the hard way on a number of occasions, never under-estimate the weekend crowd at a touristy restaurant. Tosokchon was absolutely packed with locals and tourists from all over so while we started to contemplate our Plan B, we decided to retreat to Mirabeau Chocolat just across from Tosokchon for some thirst quenching drinks first.

This is a real surprise find. What a nicely decorated chocolate cafe they've got here and from the photos hanging on the wall, the owner could be seen studying the art of chocolate making in France and Japan.

They have got a great selection of handmade chocolates on display on ground floor.

As much as I wanted to try out a couple of their chocolates, I realized that a thirst quenching drink is really my top priority right now. Iced chocolate (right) was definitely the right call (especially at a chocolatier). It's rich but not overly thick. Mom had the Yuja cooler (left) and she was overwhelmed by the excessive acidity in there she said.

If you happen to be in the neighborhood, come on over and have a nice cup of chocolate (hot or iced)!
