Kiss The Tiramisu (Seoul, SOUTH KOREA) ★★★☆☆

When Kiss The Tiramisu first launched its dessert concept in Hongdae more than a year ago, I thought it was an interesting idea but one that probably won't sustain its momentum in the long haul. But they managed to prove me wrong. Not only have they recently expanded to Lotte Myeongdong and Itaewon, they've also made their mark in Bangkok in 2016.

As a big fan of tiramisu myself, I thought I owe it to myself to try at least one cup of this famed tiramisu ice-cream personally. And I picked their Itaewon location knowing it's not going to be as crowded as the other locations.

These tiramisu ice-cream (₩4,900) was made with some of the freshest ingredients only including fresh mascarpone cheese, fresh milk ice cream, lady finger crumbs and espresso. Before they lay the tiramisu ice-cream onto the gold-rimmed wine glass, they first put a layer of mascarpone cheese cream on the bottom, along with some crushed cookies and coffee liquor. That was followed by the ice-cream itself and then finished off with a dusting of cocoa powder and chocolate shavings. Very nice presentation!

This is really nice. The creamy mascarpone cheese worked so well with the sweetness from the soft ice-cream and bitterness from the cocoa and expresso. The balance is very good.

I love the fact that they've placed all their wine glasses in the fridge to keep their temperature down. That's very thoughtful.
