Gateau Madeleine Bread and Cake (Seoul, SOUTH KOREA) ★★☆☆☆

Located in a quiet residential area near Naebang station, Gateau Madeleine (가또마들렌), primarily a bakery and cake shop, also doubles as a casual dining restaurant serving simple Italian dishes like pasta and panini. 



I was looking for some sweet treat for myself after a satisfying lunch at The Green Table just nearby.



It's not easy to find a good pecan pie (₩4,800) anywhere in Asia so I'm all excited about this. But unfortunately, it didn't taste like it's been freshly made. The crust was not crunchy or buttery enough and the nutty fillings in the middle was a bit on the hard side like a frozen custard. Definitely not what I was hoping for.



But on the bright side, I can't say enough about the service being provided here. There's this waitress who speak perfect English and she was very helpful in assisting me along the way. Too bad they didn't have the product (in this case, the pecan pie) to back it up.
