Congbuin The Black Box (Seoul, SOUTH KOREA) ★★★☆☆

After spending some time at Famille Street and Central City, I decided to hop back to Famille Station for a quick meal. We're leaving the next morning so I knew we will be packing our bags late this evening with probably no time for a proper dinner.

There are so many different options out there at Famille Station ranging from Korean to Japanese, Chinese, Thai and French...if you're feeling a little adventurous, then some Italian fusion in the form of pasta, perhaps?

The place I'm talking about is called Congbuin The Black Box. It's a casual Italian place serving comfort food with a bit of Asian twist to it.

White ragu spagettini (₩13,000) - I thought this would taste like a carbonara but obviously not. The ingredients including bacon, garlic and egg looked largely the same but they have thrown in some spicy beef sausage and Thai peppers into the mix to make it very very spicy. Tasty but very hot!!! I better go get some iced water now.

Mushroom cream papardelle (₩17,500) - For anyone who likes to play it safe, this papardelle is probably what you're looking for. Assorted mushrooms, gorgonzola, pine nuts, cashews and of course a classic cream sauce rounded things out nicely. Not bad.

While everything is self serve around here, Congbuin The Black Box should never be mistaken as a food court type of restaurant. In fact, their pasta dishes are freshly cooked right in front of you and the quality is pretty darn good for its little price tag.
