Hotel Ministère (Paris, FRANCE)

After staying at the 16th arrondissement for our last two trips to Paris, we decided it's time to explore a different neighborhood.

I love staying at boutique hotels in Paris and I'd love them more if they're in centralized locations. In Paris, that will mean its 8th arrondissement, right at the doorstep of trend Faubourg Saint-Honoré.

Tucked away in a small street close to Le Palais de L'Élysée (state government office), Hotel Ministère is a small Parisian boutique hotel which we ended up staying at. It has the centralized location we needed as it's close to everything from Champs-Elysées, L'église de la Madeleine to the famous shopping streets of Avenue Montaigne and Faubourg Saint-Honoré. More importantly, it's just a short stroll from the Madeleine metro station (if you're arriving from metro like us).

In case you haven't already known, hotels in Paris are really small. Think Tokyo small.

Which was why Jelloman banged her head against the wooden pillar from the ceiling a couple of times in our tiny little room. So yes, space is a luxury here and we've already upgraded to a deluxe room.

But for a tiny room, the bathroom was relatively spacious (if we could call it spacious).

This offered another angle into our bathroom which they managed to throw in not one, but two basins even with the small space.

Hidden deep inside the bathroom was a separate shower room, unfortunately with no window.

And next door, a toilet.

While we were left scratching our heads with the weird-looking floor plan, we had no complaints about the facility at all. On top of the small bar and breakfast hall on the lobby level, they also threw in a full functional gym on the basement level for good measures.

Not bad for a small hotel with just 40 or so rooms.

Like I said before, the hotel is well connected to the rest of city thanks to its proximity to the Madeleine station.

In short, Hotel Ministère is not a bad choice for a romantic getaway but it should never be confused for a choice for family trips due to its small room size (and unorthodox setting).
