I love that Parisian interior decor. It felt like spending a night in Paris without actually flying over there.
But our "night in Paris" didn't exactly start on the right foot. First of all, all pastries with the exception of the mille feuille were sold out. It would take another 2 hours to "replenish" their inventory. So I guess no mont blanc for us on this night.
Their interpretation of the mille feuille was slightly out of our expectation too. It tasted all too "frozen" for us. The vanilla flavored custard tasted as if it has just came out of a freezer and worse was the supposingly flaky puff pastry.
On the bright side, the signature chocolate drinks were as good as the ones we had in Paris. It's a shame they didn't have their white chocolate drink available here though.
It was almost 6:30pm so we decided that we might as well have dinner here. I was a little surprised to find such a comprehensive menu with many French bistro classics including duck foie gras terrine, beef tartare with french fries etc.
And that's exactly how we started our dinner off - with their semi-cooked duck foie gras terrine, brioche toast and fig chutney. It was unfortunately one of the blandest terrine we have ever had.
The next dish, crusty sea bass fillet with zucchini duo was so much better, although my suspicion was that it was a cod fish instead of sea bass fillet as advertised on the menu.
They have some comfortable seatings on the terrace overlooking the harbour for those who like a little more privacy.
The food wasn't great on this opening day but hey, it was one of those places you had to try at least once.
