Paul Lafayet (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★★☆

Paul Lafayet is a homegrown patisserie by Frenchman and longtime Hong Kong resident Toni Younes. All of their artisan pastries are natural and handmade daily. I particularly like their signature pastries including mille-feuilles (vanilla and praline) and dome series.

Like the company's slogan "Indulge yourself", I always try to indulge myself with something sweet every now and then. It was the same case when I passed by the Paul Lafayet boutique at K11 this afternoon.

Mango pistachio dome - an interior of fresh mango slices, pistachio cake and vanilla cream, surrounded by a layer of mango purée. Refreshing and very light. This is one of my favorite here.

Baileys dome - chocolate brownie and Bailey’s créme brûlée, underneath a soft Bailey’s bavaroise.

This marked my first time trying the Baileys dome and I thought the Baileys flavor could have been a bit stronger.

Apart from artisan pastries, Paul Lafayet also offers a wide selection of macarons including a few more unusual flavors such as poppy and oolong. Check them out at one of their boutiques near you!
